Heard you had a great weekend.  Your mother kept raving about how great you look and  how you’ve “matured”.  You looked real “spiffy” in your uniform I always knew you were handsome.  There’s something to be said about a man in uniform, and it’s all true.  All ladies like men in uniform, even us old grandmothers ! 

Looking forward to seeing you; maybe on your next leave.

I hear they’re gong to let you go free for a few hours this weekend.  GREAT !   Wish we could be there withyyou,  but I’m sure you’ll have a ball anyway.  Maybe we’ll see you on your next leave.  Do you know when that’ll be ? 

We hear that you’re going to North Carolina from here.  That certainly beats Alaska; at least you’ll still be on the east coast. 

Anyway, enjoy your weekend with your parents.  They are soooo looking forward to it !

This is Grammy ! 

    I guess I’d better have  my say before all the space fills up.  You’ve got such a cheering squad out here, we’re all so interested in what’s going on in your life now.  I talked to your father today; he’s keeping us up to date on what you’re doing every time he hears from you.  Seems things are getting a bit more interesting for you now; this is a new chapter in your life.  Enjoy it !  All the family here keeps asking for news of you.  We’re all very proud!    I can’t wait to see you in your uniform.  All women  love guys in uniform (even ol’ me!)
